Louie Ocampo
After more than a hundred compositions and arrangements, Jose Luis Ocampo is still one of the most sought after musical composer and arranger in Pinoy music mainstream today. Born in 1960, Louie started as band member of the following group; Mother Earth in 1975, Kundirana in 1977 and Rhythm of the City in 1979. One of his most notable awards during his early years in the industry was a 2nd Prize for the song Ewan at the Metro Manila Popular Music Festival in 1979. The years that followed saw him win a handful of different awards from both local and international music scene, both as songwriter and as a musical arranger; including 15 Awit Awards on eight different occasions, the KATHA Music Awards 3 times, and 4 movie theme song awards from FAMAS and Star Awards. He has penned numerous hits for such artists as Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, the APO Hiking Society, Regine Velasquez and Basil Valdez.
