CELY BAUTISTA
Maria Cecilia Pimentel Bautista started her singing career at the early age of 7, when ghe was her talents were noticed by Pete Ancheta, and was made to sing as part of the duo The Wonder Kids. But it wasn’t until 1954, when she was 15 that she was introduced by her eventual husband Eddie San Jose on the radio as Cely Bautista, performing regularly on the programs Star Time and Midday Jamboree on DZFM radio; and was later paired with Ruben Tagalog in his program Harana. From 1957 to 1875, she was a contract singer of Villar Records, recording a total of 12 long playing albums, immortalizing such hits as Dahil Sa Iyo, Maalaala Mo Kaya, and Ang Tangi Kong Pag-ibig.
